Tank pools are already popular in the USA and are fast becoming the new garden trend as they are a great option for anyone with a tight space or on a budget. They instantly bring a rustic look that is very popular on Instagram right now. They can also be customised to suit any garden aesthetic with paints and vinyl wraps available.
In-ground pools require heavy landscaping which can be costly but tank pools can be placed anywhere so long as the space is completely flat and level. Like any pool, they do require regular cleaning and maintenance. We recommend adding chlorine and other sanitising chemicals to the water to keep bacteria and algae levels low. Regularly checking the pH and chlorine levels is essential for safe swimming. We also recommend keeping a lid on your pool to prevent mosquitoes who are attracted to standing water. While you don’t need a filter if you maintain and change the water regularly (we recommend every few weeks), you can add one if you wish.
With our unreliable UK summers you may be asking, is it really worth it? But here’s the best bit. You can still enjoy your pool on cooler and even rainy days with the addition of a log burner. By adding a wood burner your tank pool can also be a playground by day and an adult only haven by night.
