Traditional garden Jacuzzis are often a headache. They are large, expensive to purchase and with energy prices constantly shifting, the can be expensive to run. While cheaper inflatable versions seem like a bargain, they lost heat quickly (making them more expensive to run), are prone to punctures and are notoriously difficult to deep-clean.
It’s no wonder more people are turning to off-grid hot tubs. With Tub Tanks, you can create a durable, cost-effective sanctuary in your own garden.
Why Choose Tub Tanks?
A Tub Tanks hot tub is cost-effective, won’t puncture, is easy to clean and also easy to enter/exit. Here’s our guide for how to create the ultimate relaxation space in your garden.
Choosing your size
Heating time depends on the volume of water. Here’s our guide to finding your perfect fit:
Two people: 6ft oval wide or 5ft round tank. Approx. heat time to 37 degrees: 1.5-2 hours
Four people: 6ft round tank. Approx. heat time to 37 degrees: 3 hours
Setting up
Setting up your tank is surprisingly simple and our kits contain everything you need. As there is no electricity or plumbing is required, you can choose whichever spot in your garden that suits you best.
Your tank needs level ground. While they can be placed directly onto the ground, we recommend decking or paving underneath.
Pro tip: We offer self-build Thermowood decking starting at £600. Our boards simply click together – no screws required!
We supply the tanks with pre-drilled holes, hoses and clips. All you need to do is;
1. Connect the hoses to the tank
2. Connect the hoses to your wood burner
Full instructions are provided in your kit but it really is that simple. Once connected, simply fill the tank with water and light the fire. There’s nothing quite like the crackle of wood as you wait for your first soak.
Keeping things clean
To keep your water crystal clear you have two options; The classic way of using a chlorine dispenser which keeps the water clean for long periods of time. Or you can choose the wellness way. Many of our customers use Epsom salts. These keep the water clean for around 5 weeks while also adding the muscle-relaxing and sleep inducing benefits of magnesium.
Post-soak care
After each fire it’s important to sweep out the ash to ensure the wood burner operates at peak efficiency.
Cleaning out the tank is also easy, simply undo the plug and drain. Tip out any remaining residue, wipe the interior with a cloth, and you’re ready to refill!
